I'm no longer a newbie, in Varsity Debate. Luckily I didn't end it by being too old having my first 2 years as varsity debater. Thanks to UNY Newbie Debate Competition I could have a chance to once again feel the atmosphere of glory being a debater.
I made it to the grandfinal, and became the 3rd best speaker in the tourney. That was indeed a finally-moment I had been waiting for.
However, it wasn't that great. Because firstly, I lost to the newbies of UI. I know it's UI, after all, but they're newbies. I'm still totally far below what I expect to be. And secondly, I felt that my performance in ITS Open English Debate Competition was far better than in NNDC UNY. I think I'm still influenced by my teammates. I'm not yet a great debater who can impact my teammates to be influenced by myself.
Next, I'm happy that I just participated in Asian Medical Students' Conference 2012 Philippines. Now that I remember, it's funny how one year ago I sighed because I couldn't join Joint Conference Hong Kong (AMSC but there was also IFMSA thingy) due to financial problem. Now here I am enjoying my Post-Conference Syndrome. I really remember how much I wished so hard for the fortune to be on my side.

Wo Xue Hanyu
Da jia hao!
Wo xianzai xuexi Hanyu. Hanyu bu rong yi, dan bu tai nan a.
Jia you!
What did I write? Very much new language I use for this blog. There it is, readers! I am now studying Chinese. You all have to be proud of me; you are indentured here to give me applause to finally decide to take the lesson of a subject I used to hate for like 3 years in High School. Not to mention I've ever got big 0 in its exam back at high school, my very first (and hopefully last) ZERO in life.
Wonder what makes me so eager to learn Chinese? No, not because it's fascinating. No way it is. I may like Singlish (English with Chinese accent, somehow), but I don't like speaking language that I can barely set my mouth and lips to pronounce the words. Poor my mouth! Ah, don't forget the tones it needs to differ the meaning of words. Ridiculously, exactly the same pronunciation has different meaning when it comes to different tones. So be careful when you say you're gonna "ask" (Wen) in Chinese, because it may mean you want to kiss (Wen, too, with different tone of speaking) your conversational partner. What the hell !?

IU - Someday
lately I'm so hypnotized by this song; not only the way how IU sings it very beautifully, but also the lyrics have very deep meaning (in my opinion).
below is the English translation for the lyrics.
I hope this tears will stop running someday
Someday after this darkness clear up
I hope the warm sunshine dries these tears
When I feel that I’m getting tired of looking me exhausted,
I want to give all my dreams I’ve kept hard
very time I feel that I’m lacking in many things more than I have
I lost strength in my legs and drop down
I hope this tears will stop running someday
Someday after this darkness clear up
I hope the warm sunshine dries these tears
Everyday

"Dio"
Uhm,what's with the title? My own nickname? Yea! That's true, readers. It's exactly what I've been addressed since I was born. Wait, no, not since I was born; but since the third day after I was born (I was nameless for about 3 days, waiting my dad to name that little baby).
before went to bed last night, just googled the meaning of my nickname "Dio".

- "Dio" is Italian word for "God".
- Cassius Dio or Dio Cassius (Δίων ὁ Κάσσιος) was a Roman Consul and a noted historian writing in Greek. He published a history of Rome in 80 volumes.
- Dio Chrysostom (Δίων Χρυσόστομος ), Dion of Prusa or Dio Cocceianus, was a greek orator, philosopher, writer, historian of a roman empire in the 1st century.
- Dio of Alexandria was an academic philosopher who lived in 1st century BC, was sent by his fellow-citizens as ambassador to Rome, to complain about the conduct of their king, Ptolemy XII Auletes.
- "Dio" is the poetic name of Goddess Demeter (One of the 12 Olympians), the Goddess of fertility, agriculture, nature, and the seasons. Some sources also mentioned that Demeter used the name "Dio" when She took the form of an old woman in her searching for Persephone in Eleusis (other sources said the name was "Doso"), where She received hospitabilty by the King there.
